PROJECT description: 

Located in Los Angeles, California these two residences sit on two small lots tucked into the hillside that aim to maximize interior space and offer multiple outdoor living areas. The steep vacant hillside lot presented peculiar creative and technical challenges, the slope profile was inordinately steep and local codes demanded inventive grading strategies. In a nod to LA’s long history of modern home design CA05 is another installment of design that is both futuristic and lasting. With so much of the structure vaulted into the hillside the design focus centers around the two outward facing living areas with balconies for each story.
