Our practice has been recognized with citations from the American Institute of Architects, the Los Angeles Architecture Awards, The Architecture Master Prize, DNA Paris Awards, IIDA and Calibre Awards, the Society of American Registered Awards, the Built Design Awards, and the Japan Architect award. The body of work has been published internationally and was selected by ACADIA and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) as one of the participants in the first retrospective exhibition on contemporary architecture in Southern California - focused on the top 35 radical practices to emerge within the post-modern movement.

HISTORY & CULTURE

Arshia Architects has been operating on the belief of the agency of space, since its establishment in 2006. Over its prolonged practice, Arshia Architects has designed nearly every project typology with an attitude of executing every project with refinement and care. To materialize its projects, AA has pioneered in utilizing the latest technologies in project design and execution including Building Information Modeling as a framework in residential design since 2008.

VISION

At Arshia Architects, we strongly believe in the value of design. Studies have shown that every dollar spent on good design can generate an average of twenty dollars in profit for businesses. We take inspiration from the successful integration of design in the technology industry, where companies like Apple have made design innovation and aesthetics a cornerstone of their offerings.

We go beyond just considering the material requirements and impacts of a building throughout its life cycle. We also take into account its energetic input, output, and throughput. Our design model is derived from the world of semiconductors, where a small energetic input can be greatly amplified by the geometrical assemblage of micro-scale rare metals. This approach allows us to maximize the potential of every element in the building, resulting in more efficient and sustainable designs

PHILOSOPHY

We are dedicated to optimizing experiences between sentient and non-sentientdomains. As we understand our fragile interdependence with all matters of existence, whether biological or acellular, we think of architecture as the weave of a larger fabric that shapes our environment. In this vein, we try to understand our relationship with the world and its components at large and the implications our built environment has on its trajectory into the future.

We view architecture as much more than just a necessity, a solution, or a form of entertainment. Rather, we believe in the transformative power of architecture as a driving force that can create meaningful change. We take a unique and systematic approach to each project, regardless of its size or scope, and we integrate full life-spandesign thinking from the pre-design phase all the way through to the end of construction.

Our process is collaborative and inclusive, and we actively encourage client participation to help them rediscover the project’s potential and tap into the full power of design for a greater outcome. Our ultimate goal is to produce creative, well-considered designs that enhance the human experience and create better environments for research, development, idea-sharing, and more.
